The different offal dishes in rice noodle were my favourite by far but the prawn steamed dumpling and the prawn and pork dumpling were also incredible. It came out rapidly and I was blown away. Once inside I was handed a card and chose a substantial smorgasboard of Dim Sum. I claimed my place in the queue which moved very quickly. I walked the 20 or so minutes from where I was located and saw even at quarter to ten there was a queue nearly around the block. I was fortunate to be in the area and saw that it opened at 10am, perfect for. ![]() I’ve read and heard a lot about Tim Ho Wan in my travels and was very keen to check out something with a michelin star in Hong Kong. But just because something is cheap doesn't mean it can be rubbish. I have ranked the value at 2 stars merely because you can't rate something that wasn't good. I tried to remove the filling but couldn't. They were uncooked and the raw batter was wrapped around what should and perhaps was a tasty filling. But the bun texture was nice and once you got your taste buds around the sweetness of the inner it was ok. I actually didn't like how sweet they were, sickly almost. The table next to us seemed to get better with having a table of food almost all the time. I guess our dishes were probably 1st, 5th and last. Next came the ginger cake - if you didn't order that you had to wait for the next dish to be cooked. Everyone having buns got them at the same time. It was almost as if the chef was cooking the menu in parts. The buns, then wait, the spring roll and then wait some more. With only 3 dishes I thought we may at least get them together, but no. There were only two of us but it took nearly 40 minutes from the first dish (bbq buns) to the last. the form was on our table but no pen, it was only when a pen was thrust our way we realised we needed to complete the form - we opted for the famed BBQ buns, fried dumplings with shrimp and curd been and shrimp spring roll. It was a lunchtime visit and the place was 75% full, no queues. Hotel staff advised us to try this when they saw us researching another similar establishment on our laptop.
